With the recent release of a new single and the announcement of a new live album, a fresh voice is carving out a distinct space in country music.

Released on January 29, 2025, the video showcases not only his musical prowess but also the beauty and culture of rural America, particularly the heart of Oklahoma.

Filmed in Beaver, Oklahoma, the “Little Town” music video serves as a heartfelt homage to the small towns that often go unrecognized yet hold profound stories and emotional depth.

Directed by Rahul Chakraborty and produced by Ryan Magnani, the video captures the essence of a place that is fundamental to Flores’ upbringing. Beaver is a town and county seat in Beaver County on Oklahoma’s Panhandle. The community of 1200 people is host to the annual World Cow Chip Throwing Championship.

Wyatt Flores’ roots run deep in rural Oklahoma

Flores, born in 2001, is of Native American and Mexican American descent. His father is a retired welder and was a drummer in a local band. His mother works as a school administrator in Stillwater. Flores’ uncle Bobby also performed with his father and two other musicians, Scotte Lester and Kelley Green, who later became members of the red dirt band The Great Divide. They served as musical mentors to Flores during his upbringing. Flores lists Evan Felker and his band, the Turnpike Troubadours, as another significant musical influence.

In his own words, he reflects, “The panhandle of Oklahoma is where a lot of my family comes from, and Beaver is a great representation of what a true little town looks and feels like.”

Welcome to the Plains, released in the fall of 2024 through Island Records, has been met with widespread acclaim, cementing his status as one of the most promising talents in country music today.

The album, produced by Beau Bedford, explores the turbulent yet invigorating journey of leaving his hometown and navigating the highs and lows of life on the road.

Critics have praised the album for its compelling storytelling and emotional depth, with publications like NPR and Rolling Stone highlighting Flores’ ability to connect deeply with his listeners.

Flores will be on the road this summer and fall

Accompanying the buzz around the album is the exciting news of Flores’ “Welcome Back to the Plains Tour.” He will hit the road this spring, bringing his music to cities like St. Petersburg, Memphis, and New Orleans. His performances promise to be electrifying, fueled by the energy of a breakthrough artist eager to engage with fans. The tour showcases his incredible talent and highlights his determination to bring his stories to diverse audiences nationwide.

Recently, Flores announced his first live album, Live At Cain’s Ballroom, set to be released on February 14 via Island Records. Recorded during Flores’ sold-out shows at Tulsa’s Cain’s Ballroom this past December, the album features songs from across his catalog and a cover of Turnpike Troubadours’ “Ringing In The Year.”

Of the project, Flores shares, “Live at Cain’s Ballroom is a snapshot of some of the greatest nights of my life. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed playing it.”

His featured appearances on prominent platforms also mark Wyatt Flores’ ascent in the music industry. He debuted late-night television on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Recent appearances on NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk Concert“, “CBS Saturday Morning” and spoke with NPR’s “All Things Considered.”
